Writing description :)

Do we have to do this? I moaned in my head. The water didn’t really faze me I was just thirsty.

Mrs Tennant lead N4 my hmr and kaiarahi class outside to the entrance of the college by the office. All of us had just come from interval. It was period 3. We were playing a game called fill the bucket. We had nine ice cream containers. There was a bucket of yellow water about 2 metres in front of us. We had two rounds of it. The aim was to see who could fill their bucket up the most without cheating. This task was for writing to retell and describe an event or an experience. That’s why i’m talking about this right now!

“Your time starts … NOW!” I ran was my clear plastic cup in my left hand. I filled my cup up to the halfway line, the cup went straight back into my mouth. “Crack” the cup cracked in my mouth. My mouth sucked up the warm water my taste buds turned. I could smell the water “ this smells a bit weird” I thought to myself. It tasted and smelt like salt. Im pretty sure it was normal water. Does your tap water taste like that? As my friend circled the bucket I could feel the water splashing on my face. I heard everyone cheering and laughing. 😂

After we all had a go, well most of us. We went back to class and started brainstorming our ideas for this recount. Like seriously, this one that your reading now.

The day was very fun. The teacher came up with an awesome idea. Maybe you could ask your teacher or parents to do this with you.

Setting Description

As I sat down on the table, I observed what I saw, heard and smelt.

I saw many kids pass by. The gym was packed with happy kids playing. I saw different coloured trees around me and different coloured leaves. The clouds were moving each time I stared up at the sky. The sky was a bright white and a soft grey. I saw yellow and white flowers scattered across the green grass. I saw many houses around me. About four rubbish bins surrounded me. As I looked beside me I saw the poles, ropes and the net from the volleyball net. I saw the canteen and many classrooms.

As people walked past the leaves crunched from their feet from walking over them. I could hear yelling from the gym. My friends watch was ticking as time passed by. The pens were eagerly tapping on and off the table. Sound of screeching and stomping shoes came echoing from the gym. Birds flew past singing their songs and saying their greetings. “ tweet tweet’. I squished the mud with my feet “squish”. People stepped in puddles. “ splash!”. Kids walked past bushes “hussles”.

I breathed through my nose and smelt fresh air. The dampness shot through my nose. The best part was smelling the butter chicken wraps from the canteen making me happy.

Simon the cat - Character description

The chubby cat peered over the edge of the bed. His long fuzzy tail flicked on and off the duvet cover. He was looking at his owner to see if he was awake. The demanding and percistent cat for another way to wake him up. Finally, My owner was awake. Ughh, he’s back asleep already. That was what Simon’s morning was like.

Simon looks like a fat squishy polar bear. He has a long fuzzy tail. His eyes are as big as a frog's eye. He’s got a very cute mouth. He’s very cute in general. I guess you could call him a kawaii cat.

He sounds like a baby when he meows. But he has a low, dark and creepy voice when he purrs. When he’s angry he’ll try and bite you with a crr sound! It’s very scary.

Simon loves, like loves, smelling other cat’s bum’s. It’s his way of saying all greetings and questions like hey!, how are you? What's your name? I mean he kind of likes sniffing the outdoors but not that much.

Simon loves touching nice fluffy blankets. He loves couches as well but he rips the thread out most of the time. He loves soft things like blankets and pillows are his favourite.

He loves eating biscuits. Temptation ones are his favourite. Simon doesn’t really mind what he eats. He eats anything but he usually gets sick and throws the food back up 😆😨

When Simon’s owner doesn’t wake up he’s thinking Oh my!, Wake up, I’m so so hungry!, Ughhh! Simon really can’t be bothered anymore he can’t put up with this anymore.

Simon loves being playful. But when he’s in a very high play mode watch out he’s very dangerous. If Simon doesn’t get his way he’ll be the most demanding and sassy cat you would’ve ever seen. When his owner comes back Simon acts innocent and cute.

Finally Simon woke his owner up with a thud of a bat.

Mandarin Research

For Get Creative this week I did some art. I made a piece of art that I didn't like and I cut it out. I made a heart and stuck a bunch of yellow card. Maybe you could try something like this. The point of Get Creative is to be creative!
